From Chicago to Manchester
Jonathan Spector's start in professional football only occurred because he was "in the right place at the right time".
The USA international had not considered turning professional until after finishing his academic studies. But when he was noticed by a scout, who was there to watch someone else, he was quickly put on a plane to England and signed up by Alex Ferguson.
The American stayed with Manchester United for three years and West Ham United for five years, before singing for Birmingham City in 2011.
