Music in Leeds - Volume 2
As the punk revolution gripped Britain, Leeds played its own part - bands armed with three chords screamed in the face of a grey industrial past that threatened to strangle its future. Soon punk mixed with reggae to combat the National Front and the dub sound systems that evolved throbbed a new sound. The city was inspired, and the next generation of music followed as rock-and-roll became the new soundtrack.
