Was the press regulator right to say that Kelvin MacKenzie was 'entitled to his view' about news presenter Fatima Manji?
Press regulator IPSO has ruled on a complaint from Channel 4 News about a column written by former Sun editor Kelvin MacKenzie in his old paper. Fatima Manji was presenting Channel 4 News while wearing a hijab. Journalist MacKenzie said that Channel 4 News shouldn't have allowed a presenter wearing the hijab to present the news about the Nice terror attack. That attack was carried out by an Islamist - and of course included many Muslim victims. Manji claimed she was targeted deliberately, but Ipso's ruling said: "The article did not include a prejudicial or pejorative reference to the complainant on the grounds of her religion". Shahid and Anisa share their views with Amol Rajan.
