Who is to blame for the missing Marmite?
A falling pound is threatening household items as Tesco pulls lots of products from sale
A 10% price rise demanded by Marmite's manufacturers Unilever left such a nasty taste in the mouth of the country's largest supermarket chain Tesco that they are taking no further deliveries. The row does not end with a sticky, brown spread. It covers a huge range of other familiar brands such as PG Tips and Comfort fabric softener.
Unilever are saying a drop in the pound since the announcement of Brexit is one of the main reasons for the price increase.
Bruno Monteyne used to work for Tesco's handling their suppliers. He is now an analyst at Sanford Bernstein, an investment research firm.
Ian Wright is Director-General of the Food and Drink Federation, who represent the food industry and Dominic O'Connell, the Today programme's business presenter all discuss the impact this stand off might have on the rest of the industry.
