‘Granny-sitter wanted’
A couple from London have received hundreds of responses to an advert looking for help caring for their elderly grandmother in exchange for free accommodation overlooking the Thames in London.
The advert, which says ‘granny-sitter wanted’, was posted by Ross Elder and his girlfriend Sofi. It asks for someone to ‘grandma-sit’ three days a week in exchange for living rent free.
Ross told 5 Live he decided to bring his grandma, Margaret, to London after she struggled to settle into a new care home.
“She needs someone to be around all the time just to keep an eye on her. We thought it would be good to have a housemate around who has more experience in terms of caring for someone,” he said.
