Working with Scottish Ballet, Crystal Pite collides the classical traditions of ballet with the structures of animal hives and flocks where hundreds of individual minds come together to form vast single entities. With eerie costume design and an ethereal electronic score by Owen Belton, the result is a powerful and hypnotic work of dance, where the audience is brought into a nest society, where dancers have transformed inhuman creatures and unite into a single living unit.

Emergence goes on tour throughout Scotland, running in Glasgow from 29 September to 1 October, Inverness from 7 to 9 October, and Aberdeen from 14 to 15 October 2016.
