Jonathon Amos tells us about the discovery of an Earth-sized exoplanet which has been found to be orbiting our nearest star, Proxima Centauri. It is the closest Earth-sized exoplanet found to date - our astronomical next door neighbour, making this discovery arguably the most exciting exoplanet discovery to date.
