'We talk about things other than politics'

With a second female prime minister, Northampton Borough Council's three female leaders have been discussing being a woman in politics.

Conservative Mary Markham, the council's leader, said they can have a "sensible and civil conversation". Danielle Stone, leader of the Labour opposition, said there was an issue with getting more women in politics and into positions on the council.

While, Sally Beardsworth, leader of the Lib Dem group said that the three women "talk about things other than politics" and have debates "without testosterone".
