How Cinque Terre plans to limit its tourist numbers
Italy plans to severely reduce the number of tourists visiting Cinque Terre, a Unesco World Heritage Site, because officials say the rugged coastline risks being damaged by so many visitors.
Cinque Terre has become increasingly popular as a stop for short visits as cruise companies add it to their itinerary replacing other ports such as Tunisia which have lost their appeal following recent terrorist attacks.
