Trones Wood 100 years on
One hundred years ago the men of the 6th Northamptonshire Regiment were going over the top and into a ferocious World War One battle on the Somme.
They attacked Trones Wood on the morning of 14 July 1916 - a place where 100 men from right across the county fought and died in the most appalling of conditions. It was a scene of fear and tragedy, but also of heroism and enormous bravery.
Military historian Jon Cooksey has been back to Trones Wood with Bernie Keith, to tell the story of what happened to these Northamptonshire men a century ago.
