Brexit: Voters opt to leave EU
The UK is to leave the European Union. After weeks of campaigning, 51.9% of people voted to leave, whilst only 48.1% to remain. The turnout was 71.8%, the highest in a UK-wide vote since the 1992 general election. Leeds, Harrogate and York voted to remain, the remainder of West Yorkshire voters opted to leave.
