Scientists from the University of East Anglia are planning to release underwater robots in the Bay of Bengal to monitor how ocean conditions influence monsoon rainfall.
It's hoped the 拢8m project will help forecast the arrival of the Indian monsoon more accurately.
The UEA team is due to arrive in India today, setting sail later this month.
