Thierry Henry: Payet's desire drove France forward
Thierry Henry has heaped praise on France midfielder Dimitri Payet following his stunning late goal, which gave hosts France victory over Romania in the first game of Euro 2016.
The West Ham midfielder struck a fierce drive into the top corner with full-time looming at the Stade de France and Henry was full of superlatives for his compatriot afterwards.
"He wanted every single ball. Every single ball. And every time he made something happen. But that strike - oh my gosh," Henry told 5 live Sport's Dan Walker.
“He was outstanding. Not only with the way he played, not only with his skills. But his desire - he's the one who drove the team forward; he's the one who wanted it the most."
