Masterpiece displayed following 10-year restoration
A Renaissance masterpiece has gone on display at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge following a 10-year restoration.
The Adoration of the Shepherds by 16th Century Italian artist Sebastiano del Piombo was almost completely destroyed in the 1700s.
Rupert Featherstone, director of the Hamilton Kerr Institute, which carried out the conservation work, described it as a "major challenge".
