Euros Special: Roger Speed

Roger Speed talks about his son Gary, his impact on Wales, what Wales meant to him, and the legacy he left behind.

In November 2011, the world of football, and the country of Wales, was rocked by the news that Wales manager Gary Speed had passed away after taking his own life. Speed had been manager of the national side for ten months, and such was his success with the side, FIFA awarded Wales with 'Best Movers' of the year, leaping from 117th in the world rankings, to 45th, collecting more points than any other nation. Now, Chris Coleman is preparing to lead Wales to their first major tournament since the 1958 World Cup. In this special interview, Gary Speed's father Roger talks about what Wales meant to his son, the impact he had as manager, the legacy he left behind, and how proud he would be to see Wales competing in Euro 2016.
