How to be the Head Lad at a huge stables
We talk to Clive Cox's head lad, Martin Berry, about his role and what people have to do behind the scenes to get horses in top condition.
"My job covers everything from feeding to riding, to covering here when people are at the races. I make sure everything runs smoothly."
"We've got three barns with 30-35 horses in each, so we have about 95 horses to look after, it's enough to keep us busy."
"On a daily basis we sit on four or five horses, but we'll sit on most of them by the end of the year."
"If people are getting on with them they'll just stick with them."
