Bruce Grobbelaar recalls Hillsborough horror
Former Liverpool goalkeeper Bruce Grobbelaar recalls his experience of the Hillsborough tragedy on 15 April 1989, as a result of which 96 football fans lost their lives.
Grobbelaar was the closest player to the Leppings Lane end when the tragedy took place.
"It wasn’t like a surge that you had seen before – you could hear creaks because of the metal barriers being bent," he told 5 live Sport's Kelly Cates.
He continued: "It was eerie. It was as if air was being let out of the people."
Hear more from Bruce Grobbelaar in 'Hillsborough: The Truth' on 5 live Sport at 8pm on Wednesday 27 April.
The programme will be available to download as a podcast shortly after on the 5 live website.
