The vinyl revival
Sales of vinyl records in the UK have reached their highest levels in 20 years. The British record label body, BPI says if growth continues, demand for vinyl records could return to the peak levels of the 1980s. The news comes as independent record shops celebrate "Record Store Day", an annual global initiative, set up in 2007, to give support to record shops in the digital age. In recent years these shops have made a startling comeback. So, Dan Damon asks - why have vinyl records become so fashionable?
