A major research project has found that more adults in the world are now obese than underweight.
The study, led by Imperial College London, concluded that a worldwide target to halt the rise in obesity stands almost no chance of being met.
Professor Majid Ezzati, from Imperial College London who led the research said "fundamentally, our food policies are going to have to change in order to deal with both the undernutrition problem and the severe obesity problem".
"Unhealthy products should be regulated as we do for tobacco and alcohol,鈥 he said.
