Female toads 'fashionably late'
It's hotting up for male toads as warmer weather is finally enticing females to their breeding grounds.
The males have been waiting to breed since January when their migration started a month early due to the mild weather at the time.
Since then the conditions have been so poor Toadwatch patrollers across Norfolk say they've seen fewer than half the toads that were helped last year.
Now, as the females begin to arrive, courting competition is fierce with so many males to each female.
