Gloucestershire needs 105 extra GPs to deal with the demand of a growing and ageing population.

The figure comes from a report by the Royal College of General Practitioners, which says the county is within the top 10 areas in the country in need of more staff.

Gloucestershire's 81 surgeries have 554 GPs working for them.

The Local Medical Committee says it is looking at how to retain existing staff and get others to return to the profession.
