Steps have been made to reverse memory loss caused by Alzheimer鈥檚

Researchers have managed to restore memories in mice bred to have features of the early stages of Alzheimer鈥檚.
Previous research has suggested that the early stages of Alzheimer鈥檚 damage the brain鈥檚 ability to process and store memories, but this study indicates it鈥檚 the brain鈥檚 ability to retrieve memories that鈥檚 impaired, not the creation of memories.
It means that one day, treatments to reverse memory loss in early onset Alzheimer鈥檚 could be possible.
In today's podcast we hear from the supervisor of the study Dr Susumu Tonegawa and Dr Simon Ridley, director of research at Alzheimer鈥檚 Research UK.
