Supermarkets pledge to cut a fifth of food waste by 2025

Major supermarkets are committing to cut food waste and transform the food industry.

Britain鈥檚 major supermarkets and several manufacturers are committing to work together to cut food waste in the UK by a fifth over the coming decade.

Tristram Stuart is a writer and campaigner against food waste. Reporter Zoe Conway went to visit FareShare, a charity that takes redistributes unsold food from supermarkets to those in need around the country. Andrew Opie is the Director of Food and Sustainability at British Retail Consortium.
