Cecil B.DeMille, master of the silver-screen epic, was born 100 years ago

Director of Hollywood epics, Cecil B.DeMille is celebrated on the 100th anniversary of his birth. An exhibition of works by French artist Fernand Léger (1881-1955) at the Riverside Studios, London, includes a recreation of an exhibition the artist held in the mid-1930s. Writer V.S. Pritchett talks about how he selected the contents of the Oxford Book of Short Stories. More highlights from the London International Theatre Festival, including a leather and striptease version of Faust from Cologne.
