Why do Brits post selfies and Chileans post footies?

Professor of Anthropology at UCL and Anthropologist at the British Institute at Ankara discuss how social media varies between countries.

Why do we post selfies in England and footies (photos of their feet) in Chile? How quintessentially English are we when it comes to our social media activity?

Global social media research project Why We Post explores such questions as these.

We brought together Daniel Miller, professor of Anthropology at UCL and leader of the project, and Elisabetta Costa, Anthropologist at the British Institute at Ankara, to discuss how social media varies between countries.
