Is Snuff still a thing?
McChrystal's in Leicester manufactures snuff - it's one of Leicestershire's oldest businesses and, after 90 years in the trade, is still going strong.
The finely ground tobacco, snorted up the nose, comes in a variety of flavours from their best-seller, Menthol, to other smells like Whiskey. The tobacco trade has been hit hard by the health lobby and snuff is no exception with tins of snuff carrying similar health warnings to packs of cigarettes.
But unlike other forms of tobacco it's not lit when used which, say some, makes it the less offensive cousin of the tobacco family.
Ian McChrystal runs the business, he took it over from his great grandfather who set up the firm in 1926. Now he's handing some of the reigns over to so his son Charles, who despite being only 32, says there's an interest among people his age.
