Schoolchildren were stunned to find the wreckage they were informed was an alien spacecraft strewn across their playing field when they arrived for lessons at Wreningham Primary today.

The area was cordoned-off to keep the children away from the debris.

While investigations continue, the school says it's been a good opportunity for pupils to learn about the Roswell incident in the US in the 1940s when people thought aliens had landed.
