A11 dualling 'boosts business'
Businesses have been helped by the completion of the dualling of the A11, says a training provider.
The final stretch of dualling was finished a year ago, after a 40-year campaign by business leaders and safety pressure groups.
Colin Wright, managing director of Britannia Safety, health and safety consultants and training providers in Wymondham, close to the A11 in Norfolk, said: "Our business is up 15% since the new road opened.
"Our customers are prepared to travel about an hour-and-a-half to get here for courses. The new road's given us about another 30 miles on our catchment area, down to the other side of Cambridge, and to Stansted."
