Ashleigh was 13 when she was came off a horse and although she was wearing body armour, she was left paralysed from the rib cage down.
As well as taking a physical toll it had a huge impact on her emotional wellbeing. She became depressed and thought about taking her own life. But Back Up Trust, a charity which helps children and young people with Spinal Cord Injury, helped Ashleigh to enjoy life again. She met others who had been injured in a similar way but were learning to cope. It gave her hope for her future
