Actor Rhys Ifans plays Captain Cat and the narrator in a new version of Dylan Thomas鈥� 鈥楿nder Milk Wood鈥�.

Describing his character on the Today programme, he said the combination of roles creates a sense of a character narrating their own demise, like 鈥渢he life of a drowning man passing before him鈥�.

But speaking to presenter James Naughtie, Mr Ifans stresses the play is by no means dark and is in fact 鈥渁 joyous alliterative tirade of erotica.鈥�
