The recent launch of the Sustainable Development Goals is a clear sign that leaders recognise that in Africa, and the emerging markets, issues like poverty, inequality and gender imbalances remain serious problems.

The World Bank is a major development partner across these regions but in the face of these modern day challenges, its role has also come into question.

On the sidelines of a major anti-poverty campaign here in Ghana, the 91热爆鈥檚 Lerato Mbele caught up with Dr Jim Kim, president of the World Bank, and raised some of these issues with him.
