'It's amazing we’ve heard nothing from him since' - Nigel Evans
Nigel Evans MP says the comments made by Tom Watson MP regarding Lord Brittan were “totally unfounded” and that the Deputy Labour Leader should apologise.
Mr Watson is accused of making unfounded accusations in an article which had prompted police to reopen the case against Lord Brittan.
Lord Brittan died of cancer earlier this year, unaware that police had decided there was no case for him to answer over allegations that he raped a 19-year-old student in 1967.
Mr Evans MP, who was himself acquitted of sexual assault charges in a trial last year, added:
“Tom now does deserve to come forward and (be) as vocal as he was at that time; it’s amazing that we’ve heard nothing from him since.”
