The man who brought nature back to health in the Summer Isles
Frank Fraser Darling is known one of the founding figures of the modern environmental movement. The conservationist and author settled with his family on an abandoned croft in the Summer Isles, on Tanera Mor in 1938. His work sought to prove that crofting was more than farming and his family help to rebuild the natural habitat on the island.
