Lip Reading Awareness Week
Losing your hearing is an isolating and distressing experience, and for those people who experience this, finding new ways to communicate effectively is vitally important. Today marks the start of 'Lip Reading Awareness Week' - a skill which can transform the lives of those suffering hearing loss. But despite tens of thousands of people across Leicestershire struggling with their hearing, there are relatively few people teaching the skill. But supported by the charity the Leslie Edwards Trust and a county council grant, there are now classes available to learn how to lip read and meet others in a similar situation.
