The shops defying Mafia protection racket
The island of Sicily is known for its ancient ruins, popular beaches and one of the most powerful organized crime syndicates in the world - the Mafia (Cosa Nostra).
Despite decades of crackdowns the organisation still exerts a wide influence, including protection rackets.
But in 2006, a scheme was established to encourage shoppers to buy from stores which refused to co-operate with the Mafia.
Almost a decade later, 1,000 shops across Sicily are taking part.
The 91Èȱ¬ Travel Show's Chritsa Larwood finds out more.
