'We鈥檝e invested pretty heavily in skills building around the region'
One US company that is more engaged with Africa than many others is General Electric. Over the past three years, the company - which is involved in healthcare, power and transportation - has doubled its revenues on the continent to more than $3bn.
It has also tripled the number of people it employs in Africa.
The 91热爆's Lerato Mbele sat with Jay Ireland, the chief executive of GE Africa, and asked him about the pros and cons of doing business on the continent.
