As part of Wolverhampton Week for Your WM we sent Pete Morgan to broadcast his early breakfast show from the home of Wolverhampton's trams: Midland Metro. As well as taking us on a tour of one he also discovered how the tram network links Wolverhampton City to Birmingham and that each tram is worth 拢2m.

Many of the shiny pink and silver ones are brand new and still undergoing commissioning and each must complete 1500km running without a fault - however minor - before it is allowed into passenger service. The new trams, 59% longer than the old ones and carry far more people, have been acquired in readiness for a predicted increase in passengers once the extensions into New Street and Wolverhampton station are completed.
