Carefree- Fostering Independence Cornwall works with young people who are in and leaving care and sometimes with young people on the edge of care.

91Èȱ¬ Children in Needs supports its Peer Mentoring programme with a three year grant for £99,491 to help train and support young people in care to become peer mentors. Through taking part in this project the young people gain accredited learning and a wide range of new skills. It enables them to better manage relationships with others, raises their self- esteem and helps them to become more self-aware.

Throughout the training programme the numerous activities and events which the young people get to participate in also gives them the opportunity to enjoy themselves and to have some fun, something which some of them don’t always get the opportunity to do.
