The Conservative former Deputy Prime Minister, Lord Heseltine, has said ministers must toe the government line on the EU to avoid 鈥渁bsolute chaos鈥�.

PM David Cameron suggested he expects all members of the government to back him over any EU deal.

Lord Heseltine said the country could not be governed unless ministers had a 鈥渃lear view鈥� the public could 鈥渟upport collectively鈥�.

Asked by 5 live鈥檚 John Pienaar if toeing the party line would lead to ministerial resignations, he responded: 鈥淭hat鈥檚 up to them isn鈥檛 it... if people feel that strongly, good luck."
