A and E, Bradgate Park and Dowsing.
Start your day with the latest news and updates, with Jim and Jo at breakfast.
Work has officially starts on a new Accident and Emergency department in Leicester. It's fair to say the current ward at the Leicester Royal Infirmary is one of the busiest A and E's in the country; in fact when it opened it was designed for dealing with a hundred-thousand patients, but actually caters for 160-thousand today! It's no surprise that when the new multi-million pound development was given the go ahead last year it was warmly received. Officials at Bradgate Park are reminding dog-walkers to keep their pets under control this Bank Holiday weekend after an increase in attacks on deer. If you've never heard of DOWSING it's a technique that's believed can be used to discover underground water courses, buried metals, oil and gravesites, by sensing "energies" in the area. But despite a fairly large number of practitioners, how and why dowsing works is not fully explained. Well, very recently the Leicestershire & Rutland Dowsers group decided to Dowse one of Leicester's oldest churches, St Mary de Castro in search of spiritual energies.
