An elderly woman from Leicestershire has made the difficult decision to stop giving to a number of charities because she simply cannot afford it anymore. Molly Hackley from Hinckley got in touch with us on Friday's programme following the news that a Bristol poppy-seller, Olive Cooke, was found dead after friends said she was being "exhausted" by charity requests. Well now 84-year old Molly has gone from supporting 8 charities to the tune of 85-pounds a month- to giving just over 20-quid. Its now full steam ahead for a new world-class railway museum in Leicester! Its because this morning, crucial lottery funding has been announced to support a new visitors attraction at the Great Central Railway. The idea has always been to construct a 16-million pound museum filled with hundreds of artefacts from the national collection. But there was one big problem....money. And now the Heritage Lottery Fund has revealed that its pumping around 10-million pounds into the project. Now you've all probably heard the phrase, 'a dog is for life not just for Christmas'. But now a dog training centre in Leicestershire is putting a spin on that by asking people to take in a pet just for a weekend! Canine Partners, a charity which trains dogs to assist people with physical disabilities, is looking for weekend fosterers for their dogs.
