Should Harmandir Sahib be a World Heritage Site?

Some Sikh groups have objected to the Indian government's nomination to make the Harmandir Sahib a UNSECO World Heritage Site. They say it would ultimately give the Indian government control of the complex in Amritsar. They have started a petition which thousands of Sikhs around the world have signed. They say there is a danger the holy site, which includes the Golden Temple, could become a tourist attraction and that the sovereignty of the Akal Takht will be lost because the Indian government would ultimately take control of the whole area. Sikh groups have also started to lobby officials at UNESCO through an open letter and a petition. Listen to what Navraj and Sangeeta told Nihal.
