Brailsford: Cycling doping report is 'moment of truth' for UCI
The Team Sky boss Sir Dave Brailsford says the publication of the Cycling Independent Reform Commission (CIRC) report into the recent history of the sport can act as a "moment of truth" for the UCI, cycling's governing body.
The report claims doping is still widespread in cycling, and the UCI president Brian Cookson said he was "shocked" by some of the findings.
Reacting to what he had read in the report, Brailsford said "It's the moment of truth for the UCI. This sport needs leadership" and that this is the moment to "step up" and make some changes that will move us forward".
He continued, saying he would like to see the sport introduce a team of "individual experts" who "live and breathe every minute within the teams" and are given "access all areas".
