Richard Branson remembers American adventurer Steve Fossett
Richard Branson said that the American adventurer Steve Fossett was “one of the greatest adventurers in history.”
In 2005 Steve was the first person to fly solo around-the-world in the Virgin Atlantic GlobalFlyer without stopping or refuelling.
Richard Branson sponsored the aircraft and said that Steve was an “extraordinary individual” who set “100 world records in 15 different sectors”.
Fossett died in 2007 after the plane he was flying over Nevada crashed.
