Poyet: Referee told us Brown and O'Shea fouled Man Utd's Falcao
The Sunderland manager Gus Poyet says referee Roger East has revealed that he felt Manchester United forward Falcao was fouled by John O'Shea and Wes Brown, with Brown dismissed for his part in the incident in the game at Old Trafford.
Falcao controlled an Ander Herrera cross in the box and, as he turned in between former United defenders Brown and O'Shea he appeared to be pulled back by the latter. However, it was Brown who was red-carded.
Rooney converted the penalty to give United a 1-0 lead. He scored again as Louis van Gaal's side won the game 2-0.
Poyet said afterwards 'The referee said it was two fouls, one committed by John (O'Shea) and one committed by Wes Brown and he gave the Wes Brown one.
'I think we need to analyse the report from the referee, we need to analyse the action, we need to talk to the players as we need to be fair on the players and then we will make a decision.'
