Online courts would give "greater access to justice"

Professor Richard Susskind, the IT Adviser to Lord Chief Justice and author of a report recommending judges decide some non-criminal cases online told the programme the system would give more people access to justice.

Professor Susskind said an online court system could deal with tens of thousands of cases a year and would lower costs incurred by those litigating as well as to the court system as a whole.

"We feel a more intuitive system that people can go online and use would actually give rise to greater access to justice as well as lower costs."
