Collingwood: Stokes could've won World Cup for England
Former England ODI captain Paul Collingwood believes Ben Stokes' absence in England's world cup squad is "ridiculous".
Speaking after Stokes scored an unbeaten 151 from 86 balls for England Lions against South Africa A, Collingwood said: "If you're gonna play him you got to play him in the right position whether that be 4,5 or 6. What england did with him is like telling Cristiano Ronaldo to play at right back, express yourself on the pitch and score goals".
"The thing that frustrates me is that England were batting him in the number 8 position…he can win games of cricket with the bat solely."
"You’ve got a guy here who – if he came good in the world cup – he could’ve won you the world cup, he could have won 3 or 4 games."
