Flintoff: ‘If my daughter brought Alastair Cook home, I would high five the missus’
Former England Captain Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff says England need to “get some momentum” if they want to win the World Cup.
Speaking to Charles Dagnall in the TMS commentary box, Flintoff said “It’s a case of do they believe it? You don’t just wake up one day, sat in the dressing room and turn to your mates to say ‘yeah, we can win the World Cup.’”
Eoin Morgan earned his first win as captain after England pulled off a nine-wicket thrashing of India in the Tri-Series. Flintoff said Morgan taking over from Cook was a “great move”.
“I’m a massive Alastair Cook fan,” said the 37-year-old. “If my daughter brought Alastair Cook home, I would high-five the missus!"
“He’s one of the best blokes you could ever wish to meet; I was sad that he had to give it away but I think the time was right.”
