Eurotunnel says it expects to resume some vehicle and freight services through the Channel Tunnel on Saturday night following a lorry fire.

Eurostar cancelled 26 passenger trains on Saturday, but said it will run a "full service" on Sunday, with some delays.

No-one was hurt in the fire, which occurred at the French end of the north tunnel. Passengers were safely evacuated from trains in the tunnel, and the fire "was quickly brought under control by the emergency services", Eurotunnel said.

John in London and Colin in France are two passengers who were affected by the closure. They told Nihal about their experiences, which John described as "shocking", and which for Colin meant being "turfed off the train" outside Disneyland Paris.

Eurostar said "Eurostar services on Sunday are already very busy and availability is limited" but will try to rebook passengers on a service leaving after midday. They also say "We are sorry for the inconvenience that passengers have experienced today".
