Saudi blogger sentenced to 1000 lashes 'in critical condition'

Ensaf Haidar, the wife of Saudi Arabian blogger Raif Badawi, sentenced to 1,000 lashes for "insulting Islam", says his health is in critical condition.

Haidar has urged international governments to pressure Saudi Arabia to stop her husband's public flogging.

She last saw her husband in 2011, but is confident he will be released soon and that they will one day live with their children "as a family".

Ensaf said her husband is in "a critical condition", after his weekly Friday lashing was postponed due to his ill condition.
